When did the factory switch from the flat top radiator (like m38a1), to round top version? Anybody know, or care? And should the hoses be smooth sided molded or ribbed flexy hose?
    Thanks.

I dont know anything about the time line for radiator design change but the radiator in my 55 looks like it could be original, It is flat on top with very little slope from the filler neck towards the tank ends. Only the tank ends are rounded off some.
Dont know about the hose design either but will share the smooth pre-formed hose part numbers from NAPA, Top 777..........Bottom 7728..........Bypass 789.
If you are looking for a good last almost forever solution for the air cleaner hose try the NAPA 7820 radiator hose and trim both ends to correct length.
    Good Luck on your project.
