I replaced my leaking steel valve cover with a new unit and all the holes are different. There are three holes, all 1.25 inches across, two in front and one in the rear on the new unit. The original unit has a steel twist on oil fill cap, then a sealed grommet for a 1 inch opening then in the rear a pvc value grommet for a 1 inch opening.

Does anyone know what I need to order to make the new cover work? I'm going to head down to the auto parts store but I have always had bad luck when it comes to getting parts. You tell them you drive a 1973 Jeep and you get that deer eyes in the head light stare from the kid behind the counter.

    Thanks

Not a whole lot in making it work. Hopefully when you get it all buttoned up, it won't LEAK!

The front-most hole is for adding oil....a rubber plug will replace your steel screw-on cap. You might want to keep a small funnel handy for when you need to add a quart or two. The other up front should lead to the carburetor. The one in the rear is for a hose to the air-cleaner housing via a PCV filter. So many jeeps have been modified over the years, pretty much each set up is different; unless it is totally original.

Like I said, if it doesn't leak....Consider it a job well done !!
