Speedometer gear 77' cj5

    Hey guys i have a 1977 cj5 with a dana 20 transfer case and im trying to change out my speedometer gear. I think it is broke off in there or something. I cant get a socket or wrench on it. Is there a special tool to get that thing out of there. Thanks

    If you're talking about the threaded-in housing for the speedo driven gear, I had to "grind" down the outside of a thin wall 7/8" socket to fit those. Some you can use a regular thin wall socket and some you can't. Nickmil
