D30 Seal ??

Hey everyone,

I am trying to replace the seals in my D30 and have all the ones I need except the inner axle seals. The ones I pulled out does not have any numbers on them and the ones the FLAPS guy sold me do not fit. To start, I am not real sure what year the front end came from. It appears as one of the POs replaced it at some time or another because I found what looks like recyclers markings on the axle housing that says CJ7. I don't know this for sure beause the date code is not legible. Does any one know what part number might fit it if it is from a CJ7? I don't want to keep running back and forth to the FLAPS. Not sure of the part #'s but the CJ Dana 30's use the same inner axle seals from '72-'86.... I know it for a fact as I've rebuilt tons of them and used the same seals with no problems in any of them. Are you sure they aren't giving you the ones for a Wrangler, TJ, or XJ Cherokee? The housings are different on them (outside diameter of the seal) so I know they are different. Just rebuilt one for a guy and found what the differences were. The axle diameter is pretty much the same so the ID is the same...
