Got receipts? What all was done to it?

    Could be a good buy.

Bellhousing isn't a deterrent if you need a replacement for the 225.

No receipts, top to bottom rebuild, 30 over according to current owner. He purchsed it for his project never panned out blah blah. I was going to use it to replace the Fhead in my 55.

Who did he buy it from? Was it rebuilt by a reputable shop or by a shade tree mechanic? (note: don't intend to imply shade tree mechanics are bad but as Forrest Gump would say "Shade tree mechanics are like a box of chocolates....")

I'd pass unless I could hear it run for sure, then I'd say it's a decent price. If there's no receipts it might as well not be rebuilt IMO.

Tip it on end and pull the pan. It wouldn't hurt to pop a rod or main cap, either. That should give you a pretty good idea.

    Don't forget to re-torque the caps. :)
