I'm putting a new windshield cowl seal on my 75 CJ5. I removed the old one quite a while ago and I don't know if the new seal gets sandwiched between the hinge and windshield frame on the ends of the seal or if not, how it attaches to the cowl or windshield.

Seal should run full length, under the hinges. Most I've seen are attached to the bottom of the w/s frame, usually with screws/washers.

x2. Little sheet metal screws were in mine. In fact, the seal has little indentions where the washer and screw goes so it's countersunk into the rubber. That way when the ws is tilted upright and locked down, the screwheads don't rub on the tub.

Ok, thank you. Since my windshield frame was so badly rusted the screws were probably long gone as was the metal they screwed into.
