How do you remove the transfer case shift levers with out removing the transfer case from the tranny. I have the twin sticks and I have already removed the set screw, but cannot get the pin to move. I believe that you have to push the pin out to the side that the tranny is in. But I would like to leave the tranny in place. Can anybody help.

Unfortunatly the zerk fitting is missing and the threads are messed up. I may try to redo the threads and put in a fitting and pull. But right now I can't even move it.

Sometimes the zerk fitting thing will work, sometimes not. They're pretty soft. What I do is unbolt the crossmember and lower it to get a little clearance, remove grease fitting, slip the appropriate amount of washers and/or deepwell sockets over a 1/4-28 NFT bolt and thread in place of fitting. As you tighten the bolt it will draw the pin out. Good luck!!

Thanks, that sounds like it might work. I'll try it tomorrow.

Good luck, I wasn't able to remove mine when I asked about the exact same thing 2 weeks ago. A punch didn't work because it was too extreme of an angle to punch it out. I was leery about leveraging a pull on the zerk fitting because I simply couldn't get any leverage (no space to swing a lever).

Might be a good idea to soak each end of the pin in PB blaster or equivalent for a day, and then heat the area up with a propane torch prior to wrenching on it. Good luck!

Well it finally came loose. It just took heat, pulling with a bolt thru the zerk hole and alot of time. Thanks for the help.
