    I'm looking at buying a powr lock for my 44, but I've been seeing units for 19 spline or 30 spline axles. Which axles came in what vehicles in what year? Thanks!

    30 spline are the flanged, one-piece rear axles from about mid 70 through 71 (and through the center diff 44s from 72-75).
    The 19 spline are the two-piece axle D44s than were used up until about mid '70.

    IIRC, weren't there some early 10-spline D44s? If so, I don't know when the 19s were rolled into production. Someone here knows...

    Ah-HAH! Thanks Sparky, I always forget to look there. :oops:

    So if your 55 has an original rear axle, it is likely a 10 spline according to the link...

    Yep, but you're gonna have to pull an axle out to know for sure. Never know who swapped what. ;)

    My rear axle is a '65...one of the PO's swapped it before I owned it
