This is the first summer we have had our 68 CJ5 V6 on the road. It has become a daily driver. The last couple of weeks what sounds like the throw out bearing is making some noice when we push in the clutch. Is it time for a new one?

Mine makes a slight clicking noise when I push in the clutch and I just replaced the thing about 2 months ago.

It really depends how much noise and what kind. If it sounds Metal on Metal it might save your perssure plate fingers otherwise if it isn't that bad I'd wait for the snow to fly. Where in Zeeland do you live? I live in Wyoming but work on 16th in Holland.

Make sure your tranny/x-fer case fluids are topped off....just to be sure your symptoms aren't low tranny-fluid related disguised as T.O.

I've had a noisy t o bearing in my F-250 for the last 4 years and nearly 100,000 miles. It hasn't gotten appreciably worse and the clutch still operates properly so I'm just leaving it alone

I live in the area as well.
You all should try to make it up to silver lake the weekend of Sept. 17. for our camping dune run.

We need to have a gathering of the early CJ5's in west michigan.
Mike Boyink, You two and myself live all withing 25 min. of eachother.
