D30 high pinion can you flip the center????

    Thorwon I'm learning.

    I've bee reading the "Confusion about aftermarket axles" http://earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64321 thread and was thinking ( things sometimes get dangerous when I do that ).
    Can I flip my D30 over and make a High Pinion out of it or would it not lube the pinion bearing right because of them being on top?
    I know it would swap the center to the other side but could it be done if you cut the center out and just flip just it?

    Never mind after reading other threads on axle mods I realized it would move the pinion to the wrong side of the ring gear and reverse drive the gears.

    If you had a overdrive, You would have 4 gears forward and 16 gears for reverse!

    if you search on Pirate4x4 there is one or two guys who are trying this. Not sure how they are correcting the problems though. Either way, its probably more work than its worth.
