Battery tray repair

    What should the attachment of the battery tray look like at the rear? Mine is broken and poorly repaired by the PO. Any suggestions for repair of the rusted area of the top, metal is solid about 1/2" to 3/4" from the rusted out spot.

    That looks about right for the weld, the factory welds were, at best, at the very best, crude. :rofl:

    If i were you I'd find a replacement, run an wanted ad on the WT for sale board, I bought one there a few months back, had four or five offers. One thing to watch for is at some point post '57 pre '59 they did change the tray slightly to accommodate a longer battery, easily identified by only one tab at the front end instead of the two on yours.
