We lease the farmland out, but the actual farmers who farm our land are indeed dry farmers.

No irrigation in the Palouse, but it produces as many bushels per acre as irrigated land because the dirt is so good at holding the moisture.

They never used to salt here in the Northwest until about 10 years ago, but now the major highways and towns always have salt. Luckily, there are hundreds of miles on non-salted gravel roads right outside our driveway. That's where the Jeeps stay in the winter.

Have gotten mine out in the neighborhood in the snow, but not on the treated roads for the same reason.
I like your buddy watching the road beside you!

It's been a really warm winter, so we've mostly been living in slimy mud that prevents you from climbing the hills. It finally stayed below freezing today so we could use the '71 to take the dogs for a run around the property.

Winter here means brine solution on the roads! That stuff is so horrible for anything metal/chrome! Road salt wasn’t to bad, since other vehicles would make a “path”
So for now I will look at a better weather driving pic :D

Another nice thing about it being frozen is that you can drive on the non-maintained-in-the-winter roads around here. If they aren't frozen, they are covered in 4 inches of sticky slime and you may or may not make it through.

We took the '71 for a Sunday drive on one of those roads this morning by this old abandoned homestead. All of a sudden there is a lot of activity here with trees getting cut down and the yard cleaned up. Not sure what the end goal is:

Great picture. End goal is just to enjoy your Jeep, the dogs, and that beautiful country. Cleaned up good!

We've had several weeks of dry California weather here in the Sierra's. I often wonder why so many Jeep owners have Border Collies. This is Daisy. We are finally getting rain and snow again. I'm at 3500 feet and so far the snow is above 5000. As far as I'm concerned it can stay there all winter. I don't have to plow rain.

Great looking dog, and cool Jeep too! I regret that my CJ5 was on the east coast when I was stationed at Beale AFB, the Sierra Nevadas were fun to explore! Grass valley was one of my favorite little towns to visit.

Seems like Jeeps and dogs go together. That Jeep is Dog Approved!
