OK so the next step is to buy floorboards and clear all the rust in the tub (there is a lot). So my dad and I went to this locally know guy who fabricates floor boards, side panels, etc. you name it for CJ's. But one of my friends tells me that the gauge he uses is not that strong.:?

So I wanted to know what is the steel gauge number for the original CJ-5 body. Because I'm going to call the fabricator to ask him what gauge does he works with.

    Thanks in advanced

Factory is 18 gu., thats pretty stiff. Don't go thinner than this. I believe Jeep Panels Plus will do them up for you in 16 gu. which is pretty thick for sheet metal.
