Looking at buying one of the rebuild kits for the Dana 18 transfer case in my 69.

Do any of you have any advice as to who I buy from? Excepting cost, are the kits all the same? Jungle Jim's kit pix look to have more parts (ex. 3 bearings vs 2), but he is also the highest. Is it a quality thing? I have no problem spending $$ for quality parts. Thanx

yes....I get most of my small TC/OD parts from him......I've also got his 30 spline axle conversion in my D44
Think he has a pretty good rep as many of the forum members use his service

Herm is great! Give him a call, very interesting to talk with. I did not get my T-case parts from him but will in the future. He also rebuilt my OD at a very reasonable price.

I agree on going to Herm. Make sure he knows you want the good quality bearings & the hardened Novak intermediate shaft, the prices listed on his web page are for the "cheap' stuff that doesn't last nearly as well.

I have become a huge fan of Herm lately, you talk to the guy and he makes sure to ask you the correct questions to get you the correct parts. Having just got a 67 cj5 added to my collection, I am ordering all kinds of parts, upgraded brakes, floating axle conversion, rebuild kits for the drive line and he works with me to make sure that the parts are the ones I want. That is so much better than the corporate stores. He has my vote and business as everything is complete, no running for this small item or that.
