Has anyone out there found a source for the gear that slips on the cam shaft that actually drives the distributor, mine has some excess wear on it that I noticed today when I cleaned it up to slip back on the new cam when re-assembling the motor. T/A performance has them but they are $65 plus shipping, I was hoping to find them somewhere for maybe $35.
Just so know one asks, this is not the timing gear set, I bet I was asked this question 10x today.
I could not get a hold of Kanter this afternoon, I will try back in the AM, any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey Mike, don't you mean a timing gear set??

    R) R) R) :D

Do you need a new one of those cam gears? I'm parting out a V6 and have a used one. Not sure of the condition, but I could peek at it if you'd be interested in an "experienced" piece.

Believe it or not, I got mine from a chevy dealership. I think it cost me 19 bucks, but that was in '99.

Nope, the only place I have found them is TA performance and I'm not paying $65 + shipping for one. I called Crane cams, Kanter, went to all the chains, Napa, Auto Zone, Advance, O'reillys and a couple of mom and pop shops, a Jeep dealer and a GM dealer, GM quit carrying it about 2 years ago and doesn't know of any other place, I even called several Buick specialty parts stores I found on the net. Used or Ta performance are the only ones that carry it. I could rotate mine 180* and use the other side but I'm a toolmaker and to anal to do crap like this if I don't have to.

    Thanks guys!!
