just picked up a 64 CJ5 this past weekend..
Im still trying to sift through exactly what I purchased.....

Frame and drivetrain look to be in good shape.. body could use some help..

I am trying to get it started to evaluate what I got..
I threw a battery in it and it cranks like a champ..but no fire..

Changed the plugs and checked connections, thats about it..

With a little gas down the carb I assume its spark related..

I guess my first, idiotic question would be 6v or 12v? How do I tell?
the VR on the firewall has no marking... the 12v battery I threw in there didnt blow anything up, so I am going on the assumption its a 12v system.

I ordered new points and cond to try and get it going..

Any suggestions on where to start..

I will post pics and update my own info as time goes on.. just wanted to get a quick first post down..

    Since 6V CJ-5s were phased out in the '50s it's pretty safe to assume it's 12V. :)

Check for spark across the points.

    Then spark from the coil.

    Spark to the plugs.

    Fuel delivery.
