Can someone share their ideas and opinions on running this setup. I think my alternator is dead and someone told me to run the chevy alternator and mount it higher. Does anyone has pics off a chevy alt. on a 304 just to see how it looks and how its done???

Or use the Bulltear Alternator bracket Like I did in my 401 powered gremlin.

Heres coloradoamx's set up with the bulltear setup.

    Its brick simple and beautiful....

I was told that you got to cut part or the alternator to make it fit on the original braket that the 304 has

On my 74 with a 258 , I had to cut the alternator where it bolt to bracket about 1" it hollow, cut eazy with hacksaw. then had to clock the alternator 90* so plug was up.

Get alt and bracket from about an 85 waggy w/360. For best results drop in the entire engine.:)

Thats a good one hehe... I'll see if I can find the bracket, if not, then Ill cut the alternator

Can I see some pics of that setup...

The reason I want a higher alt. is beacuase the old one died because of the water and dirt.... Thinking of some sort of skid plate for the bottom of the engine bay..
