I like the ARB. I've heard lots good about the Ox but haven't really run one in my vehicles. I've driven a couple and they seemed fine. I just don't like how low the actuation cable sits in the cover. Too exposed for my tastes.
Some say ARB's are problematic. I've set up lots of them with no issues, and fixed lots of issues caused by others improper set up. My Dana 60's will have ARB's. One is already assembled, the other waiting on me to have the time.
I like my Lock-rites in the '59 CJ-5 but will probably go ARB down the road.

Spool was good in the race Jeep and a welded rear worked ok in my first race truck. I've driven spooled and welded vehicles on the street. Never will I do that to one of my street driven vehicles.

My rearend is Full Spool and its a pain in the arss on the highway. thank goodness I don't drive my jeep on pavement very much, A friend of mine had a lock right in the front and busted it quickly, then he welded it and the diff has sustained great stress on 35's but his steering brakes every time he is out. Also Keep something in mind. you don't have any traction aid in the rear so the front is going to have even more stress than it would if the rear was helping it with a locker.
I would save the money and efforts and do the rear first with what is right. then concentrate on the front. IMO

I have always enjoyed my Full Lock Detroit in the rear Dana 60 and Detroit 44 front Tru-Track....... again, yes there is major Squirrel when tires are not properly inflated and the driver must use sublime caution when operating under full rear lock on highway.... But I will/would never give up my full lock Detroit in the rear... I am going full Detroit lock in Dana 44 front as soon as I am asked the infamous Fathers day, Christmas or Birthday question:
What Do You Want Dad? :D

I disagree. I have a lockright and can turn lock to lock no problem. If it's muddy I can gas it and spin around corners, if it's dry it doesn't spin and the locker ratchets. I can see where welded diffs would work that way.

I never unlock my front hubs, even in town, just put it in 2H.

I did have a rear spool that I hated, when I turned on pavement the tires barking drew a lot of attention that I didn't want. I have an Aussie in the rear now.
