Im buying 85 CJ7 with 258(same motor I have in 72CJ5), it comes with 4" rough country lift(have to weld back springs on bc wider from what im told to fit my 72). It comes with drop pitman arm.. would that fit my 72? or could I swap tierods from 85 to 72? Im buying this cj7 for parts because it comes with alot of new things I need and could use.

I am just trying to get a jist of what all will fit and what I need to do to make other things fit...and what just wont fit.

The drop pitman arm will "fit" if it has power steering and you have power steering or it has manual steering and you have manual steering. You can't swap manual to power or vice verse on the pitman arms because the shaft diameter is different. The '76 and newer pitman arms are "clocked" or rotated different than the '72-'75 models which means you potentially can turn sharper one direction than the other.

The '85 would be wide track axles, wider than your intermediates so the tie rod and drag link will be too long.
