Ok so I have a dana 20 that was mated to a saginaw 456 (yes out of a camaro) with an advanced adapter. Now last winter I took my jeep out in the snow snagged a stump and pulled my xfer case from my adapter. I bought the tranny xfer case as a whole unit and noticed after I took the transfer case off that I may be missing pieces. I called advanced adapters and we came to the conclusion that I was missing the spacer between the adapter plate and the bearing retainer, which I was also missing. So I ordered them. While waiting I plkayed around with the case out of the jeep because it was really difficult to change from 4-hi to 4-lo to 2-hi. It changed easily off the jeep. So parts come in put on my transfer case mess around with the shifter only get 2-hi and 4-hi. Put some oil in it hoping it would help after buttoning everything up doesn't even move now.

The tranny felt tight w/0 the transfer case on but now with the transfer case on it won't shift.

Any info, thoughts, opinions would be greatly appreciated as I am new to jeeps and new to working on vehicles.

I have read that in previous threeads that I may have to rebuild my shift linkage. Will this help my problem?

    thx in advance
