Hey guys what do you think, plenty of juice, no bad connections and when I turn the key no clicking etc. Bad solenoid?

Had the same problem with my 77 yeras ago. Turned out that the starter relay on the passenger fender was bad. I can't remember though if my 74 (alot like your 73) had the same part though. If you do have a relay, try jumping the connections between the battery and the starter. If it works you have a bad relay.

Grab a pair of jumper cables and attach one end to the battery positive.

On the starter solenoid find the "S" terminal, now touch the other end of the jumper cable you just connected to that terminal. If the engine cranks you have a problem with crank circuit wiring, not with the solenoid.

If nothing happens, touch the jumper cables to the big terminal leading to the starter. FYI this will create a sizable spark. If the engine cranks now you have a problem with the solenoid its self. If you still have no crank your problems either lie in the starter, battery, starter cables or ground issues.

That's what I was trying to explain. I think you did a better job of it than I did.
