You are absolutely right there. That makes me a bit of a hypocrite. :D I love the variety of the rigs on this site. From resto's to rock crawlers. To each his own for sure. I think your rig is going to be pretty cool and I am looking forward to watching the buildup. I have kept my rusty old tub from my project and I have some waggy axles and other drivetrain bits that a may use to build up a more extreme rig with in the future. It would be a little more along the lines of yours but with a 2x3" mild steel frame and plenty of DOM tube.
(I won't comp cut chainsawguy mine though.:D) I will be keeping an eye on your project for inspiration. For now I need to finish my Jeep as well as a couple of other projects. Keep us posted on your rig and have fun with it.:beer:

Looking good. I am jealous. I hope to be able to sneak into my shop to work on my rig on my Christmas break. Are you just rattle can painting it? I like the color and the stenciled military markings. Keep up the good work.

Yes rattle canning the whole thing! I'm welding in new steel anywhere that has rust, straitening out any big dings or dents and calling it good! I plan to wheel this thing so it's gonna get some scars and don't see much use in making it real pretty. Besides with this vintage I can get away with some ultra flat green w/flat white stencils and make it look authentic to the average Joe!

Looking forward to more on yours!!

Do you ever feel like things take longer and are harder to do as you get older?

Uncivilianized has been patiently waiting since December for me to find the time to get back on it. Jan. was the start of the dreaded "Honey-Do" list.......Painting, making a foundation for a Hot Tub, wiring in a hot tub, painting, building a arbor for a hot tub, painting, landscaping around a hot tub.....Did I mention painting? Garden boxes, Flower gardens....Somebody stop the madness please!!
Whew started having flash-backs there! So last month with most of the H.D. list done I decided to sneek back into the shop.....

OK it's not Uncivilianized but it is my other wheeler! This one only needed some work on the cage and a few odds and ins to get it trail ready and since this is the first holiday weekend I needed something to hit the dunes with! I promise the Jeep is next and I promise not to post anymore pictures of my Jap. Jeep on the earlycj5 forum ....;)
