    Hey guys,

I don't know if you remember last summer I was questioning about my head gasket on my 134. I started up the jeep today and it was running like crap. I pulled it in the garage and when I lifted the hood I noticed coolant on the right front of the motor that seemed to be coming out between the head and block. The oil is good and clean. Could the gasket be blown and the coolant be coming out of the motor vs going in the oil?

The number 1 cylinder doesn't seem to be firing either

    thanks a bunch

if its coming from the head and block yes its a head gasket
you will prob see water in oil once it settles in oil than turn murky

    nickmil In mothballs.

It is possible for coolant to leak from a head gasket and not go in the crankcase and mix with the oil. A simple test to check for water/coolant in the oil that's not visible is to pull the dipstick, leave the oil on the tip, then use a lighter and heat the dipstick. If there is water or coolant in the oil sample then it will pop and snap and boil off just like water thrown in a greasy hot skillet.

Yup, head gasket. Have you pulled the number one plug? It will likely be wet.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

possible it's coming from just the headbolt
might pull the headbolt and seal the threads

Since it's in front check the gaskets on your thermostat housing and the hoses. Isn't there a small short hose on an f-head too?

It is leaking right here in the corner of the head, I know not a good pic.

have you tried re-torquing the head bolts to spec? Any bubbles (percolation) noticeable in your radiator when motor to temp?
should the gasket be your problem...replacing the head gasket is pretty straight forward on the f-head
A leak-down test would verify before having to pull anything apart.

Remember there is a head bolt under the carb!
