i have a 75 cj-6 with the 232. apparently the carb has been replaced with a reman model. after researching the numbers on it i found that it is/was made by holley. it is a holley 1bbl economaster part number r-8064. it needs a rebuild and has some things that dont quite look right to me after further inspection. im just trying to determine if its worth the effort or if i should by a reman cater yf from quadratec. the carb seems to be sitting on a spacer of some sort and has an odd assortment of fittings that go between the metal fuel line and the fuel inlet on the carb. the fuel line threads in to a brass fitting(female on one end and male on the other), that brass fiting then threads in to another fitting of the same type and size but it reduces down internally so it has a smaller outlet hole on the male end. then that fitting threads in to another brass fitting that look like it has a valve of some sort that extends from the male threads that go into the carbs fuel inlet about half an inch. it also has holes on the end of the valve that im guessing are used to alter the spray pattern coming in to the carb. the last piece is the only one that appears as if it belongs. i have some pics of the carb and the numbers on it but i will have to post one of the fuel line and assortment of fittings later today or tomorrow morning.

The fuel inlet hose appears to be the rubber hose right directly in the middle of the carb in your second picture above. That would go directly thru to the needle and seat; not affecting "spray" pattern.
The metal covered line is the stove pipe for the auto choke.
The other rubber lines I see are the bowl vent and vacuum hoses.
I don't see a metal fuel inlet line.

The spacer for the carb isn't unusual, as the factory could have/would have used something similar to insulate the carb from manifold heat soak and/or for carb linkage clearance.

I can't help with another carb choice; some here will recommend changing over to a 2bbl manifold and set-up I'm sure.

I don't have any experience with that carb, but if you do decide to keep it or go with the Carter YF, I will say that every CJ5 I've had has had the Carter 1-bbl on it and I've always been pleased with them. I think the 1-bbl provides more than enough power for the Jeep, but that's just my opinion. Plus they're easy to rebuild.

I removed the above mentioned pieces except the one that threads in to the carb. The fitting that reduces internally was cracked and leaking so I bypassed everything between it and the filter. i ran a rubber line from the nipple on the filter to a nipple that threads in to the fitting that goes in to the base of the carb so I could move the jeep around if needed. I will post detailed pics of the removed parts in the morning when I get home from the fire station.
