Distrubtor issues 1974 CJ5 IL6 258

    I am trying to rotate my distributor 180 degrees. Ever time I try and insert it when I have to motor at TDC the rotor button wants to point at the # 3 cylinder, not at # 1. Does it matter if it's TDC compression stroke or not? Should it really point more at the # 3 cylinder? What am I doing wrong. I not spent a whole lot of time with my Jeep in the past 2 years it's been siting in the garage while I have been working on some vintage motorcycles and race bike. So I'm a bit out of practice. I used to be able to open the original service manual to the page I wanted without looking at the index. Not so much anymore. Lol.

    Any help would be GREAT!

    Never mind I finally found it in the service manual. Sorry!
