I posted this on the Dauntless forum, but realized that here is probably where it needs to be. I'm doing a buildup on a D30 out of a '73 CJ for my '67. I've been running a Powerlok in my 27 and I'm happy with it, but I see you can also use a Detroit Truetrac in a 30 and I'm looking for some feedback from someone who is using one.

Did you have the Truetrac in the front or the rear of the Ford? I'm not a big fan of LS in the rear as I don't think there all that much help. How is your steering with the Lockrite? Is it a bitch to turn?

I had the truetrac in the front and was hung up a few times and it didnt seem to work well at all. Several times i had people on the trail say if you put a locker in the front you would make it no problem.Ive had good luck with the lockright. It will snatch the front end of the ground. I have been breaking alot of u joints up front.

That's why I like LS in the front. I don't like replacing U joints at home in the garage, let alone out on the trail. I'm running 33" s right now but plan on going to 35's this Spring

If your going to run anything over 33s your going to bust u joints. I usually have spare axles and can change them pretty fast. But your right it gets old real quick. Im going 44 and 60 in the rear. Ill let ya know how it goes.
