front drive shaft

    can i seperate my 74 front drive shaft it is stuck can tap it back and forth or how can i loosen it up putting on a small lift thanks

    The splined shaft is normally coated with a plastic like material to aid in lubricity. That plastic can get galled and prevent the shaft from moving. If you do separate it and the plastic is galled it is likely that you'll have to replace it, or spend significant time trying to carefully cut out the galled part.

    But the answer is yes...you should be able to separate it. Just mark both sides so you know the alignment to put it back together.
