I'd first like to thank everyone for the warm welcome over here. This is my first CJ and for sure my first classic Jeep. I look forward to having this guy completed by (hopefully) mid-Spring or Summer of 2012. I am planning somewhat of a resto-mod type build, one where I can mildly wheel it..but still drive it reliably on the road. I do intend; at least at this point to keep it mostly stock but add some creature comforts like power steering. All the while I will add modern wheels/tire/seats, family style cage etc. I am still on the fence about what to do for a top..I would like a brown(spice?) colored one but haven't figured out who makes one yet. With all that said the first step for me is dis-assembly of the Jeep so that it can be sealed and painted, along with bed lining the tub floors inside and out. I have a brief history of this Jeep in the introduction forum if anyone want the details on how I got it etc. Thanks for looking guys, any and all feedback is welcome !!:)

All shined up..and ready to be disassembled and painted.

Wow mice looking rig..... I'd leave it with existing patina and concentrate on mechanicals...... Jim

Yeah Jim, the paint on the body currently is decent. I just cant live with the color, and a little bit of surface rust is starting under the dash and in a couple of spots underneath. I am going to bed-line underneath and inside the floor pan of the tub then put it back together. Mechanically everything is put back together already, I just have to get it started and driving. I also already have a full painless kit ready for her as well.

Nice. You aren't partial to Jeeps are you? How'd that Ford get in the photos?

I'd say "we" are a little partial to Jeeps. The photos were taken over at a good friend's house where most of the work will be done. The white XJ in the background is my daily driver, Ive also had a heavily built JK that I just recently sold. That is nothing compared to how many Jeeps are over at my buddy's house right now though. Currently there is a Scrambler, a CJ7, my CJ6, another crawler built from a CJ6, the J10, another CJ5..and last but not least 2 YJs on trailers down the hill that you cant see. Yes..we are partial to Jeeps.
