I have a 1970,D44,30 spline flanged axle that still works but I can wiggle the mating spider gears on it. I'd like to replace them but can't find them. Anyone know how much free play is acceptable or where I can get a used/new set?

I don't remember the numbers off hand but I believe that info is in the Factory Service Manual. Usually it's the thrust washers between the case and gear or the pinion shaft that is worn causing the play. Some play is normal.

You can probably get thrust washers from R&P or Randy's Ring and Pinion.
