Confused about my e-brake set-up, or lack thereof. I have the pull handle but it's not connected to anything. On the floor, to the immediate left of the dimmer switch is a gadget connected to what I think is the ebrake cable. Was it common to convert it somehow in this manner? I need to post a picture. Too wet and muddy right now to crwal under to see what this floor mounted gidget is.

Trying to get back in the mood after spending three days fighting a bad tooth, How does this relate to this forum? My wife and I both had to have root canals yesterday - What's the chance of that happening? We spend my darn jeep money at the stinkin Dentist!!!!!

On the early CJ's, the e-brake cable/handle is mounted right under the dash to the left of the steering column, runs through the firewall, and then goes to the Dana/Spicer 18 transfer case. There is a brake drum on the back of the case that bolts on to the rear drive shaft. Mine never really works well, but that's my own rookie rebuilding fault. I have a 67 - not sure if they moved to actual rear e-brake drums by 70 or not. One of the more knowledgables will chime in soon I imagine.

Thanks all, Appears i have the tcase set-up but parts are missing. Need to see why they mounted the floor gadget to the cable and figure out missing parts. I did locate another thread with a diagram. That's helpful.
