Any one know what the internals of the PCV valve consist of? I am redoing a 1960 CJ5 with a F-134 motor. From what I've read, when I remove the vacuum-line from the oil fill tube, I should feel a slight suction on the nipple off the oil fill tube at idle... I have slight "positive" airflow back to the air-filter. When I took the PCV valve off the side valve cover and took it apart all I found inside was a large ball-bearing. Is this normal ??? Also have a white "Froth" showing up on the top of the dip stick. Engine is a fresh rebuild with about 1,000 miles on it and runs great. But the fact that I have pressure going back through the the air filter instead of suction bugs me. Any thoughts??
    Thanks!:flag:

Thanks cookieman! Do you remember if the spring was on the side going back to the valve cover or towards the intake manifold and was it a "light "spring?
    Thanks again for the help.

I haven't taken them apart but I'm pretty sure it's a check valve. Let's the positive pressure out of the crankcase so it can make it's way to the intake manifold. So if it's a ball check, and the spring is in compression. the spring would be on the intake side of the ball. HTH
