I have question about the synchro assembly. *The instruction say to scribe a line in the hub and slider. *Unfortunately, I missed this small detail. *The instruction go on to say that this is for radial orientation during the re-assembly process. *How important is this?

The purpose of said instructions is to orient these parts as they were. If you look at the splines in the hub you should be able to see where the synchro keys were by the wear differences and re-assemble accordingly. You may be 120 degrees away from the way it was but that's no problem. If, however, you have the mainshaft back together and in the housing, go ahead and complete it; there was no particular orientation of these parts when it was assembled at the factory.

I've never done that but it may be to align the sliders over the shift dogs correctly. If those aren't set just right they'll lock up the trans. They are a pia to reset in an installed main shaft.

The reason to mark before disassembly is the hub, inserts, and sleeve wear together. Getting them out of orientation can cause binding. At least make sure the inserts align with the wear marks on the sleeve.
Some transmissions are forgiving of this and some are very unforgiving.
