I am reassembling my Dauntless, and just installed the Edelbrock roller timing chain. I read in a previous post to not reinstall the spring loaded chain tensioner. It looks like I have the spring loaded tensioner and some sort of 'rub block' on the opposite side. Do I reinstall that rub block?

With the Edelbrock, you don't have to reinstall the rub block or tensioner. I left mine off too when I installed an Edelbrock chain a while back.

Just curious what's different? I had an OEM style that broke the trensioner/rub block thing and the chain and gears ate themselves..
