    Very nice. More pics please!
    It runs and drives?
    Mechanically sound, and dependable?

Looks in pretty good shape now! '55 was the first year for the CJ-5, and they have some characteristic features that are really cool.

Tranny and transfer case both full of water and “chocolate pudding”. Every seal and gasket weeping front to rear. I’ve changed every seal and gasket on it. Rebuilding the steering box now.

Rebuilt the engine, transmission and transfer case. Steering knuckles and king pins. All the brakes. New dual master cylinder and all new lines. New tie rods. Every brake shoe was oil soaked. The clutch and emergency brake shoes full of oil. It’s been fun. I want it driving, stopping, reliable and safe.

Today's task. Not much rust at all on it. A hole in the floor of the tool box and these in the passenger rocker. Any tips on removing the tub by myself? I do have an engine hoist that I think will work. 87331261-5F98-443B-8709-CD2F4CC1B473.jpeg

Hoist over back tied to body mount bolts with ratchet straps to adjust the lift angle. They aren’t that heavy.

The hoist can work but by far the easiest way is to get a 4 people and manually lift it off.
2 healthy strong people can do it but with 4 people the folks could be a wife, daughter, son, etc. rather than the 1 biggest guy you know.
If you can't round up the extra people then proceed as Jeff (Sterlclan) described.
