Good tip...I was thinking of that during the brief excursion. Originally I hadn't planned on going off pavement but I'm sure that would have helped.

I might have come up with a name for my CJ (I've never been able to name any of my vehicles)...
    Jackhammer! :)

I have a friend who had cool names for his cars -
Bernie - car caught fire once
Roofus - the headliner was trashed

I'll do 15 or so on just dirt/washboard roads.... I run about 8-12 on the trails around here.

Finally got motivated to do something to the CJ today...Rock sliders for the rocks I'll never see. These are primarily for looks.

    Posimoto inspired rock sliders.

    Primer stage.

Finished with a top coat of bedliner.

    Came up with this...

I needed a spacer to go between the slider's angle iron and the bottom of the CJ tub. I ran the bolt from the bottom up through the angle iron and slipped the middle nut on. Adjusted the middle nut until I had the space needed to fill the gap. Finished running the bolt through the inside of the tub and put on the final nut. Now I have the perfect sized spacer which will allowed me to tighten the final nut pinching the tub between the 2 nuts without compressing the tub.

They look great! Are you going to paint or powder coat them?

My welds were starting to look so good on the 2nd one I actually had to make it look bad in order to match the 1st one. :D

No issues and as for noise, they're quiet mufflers. I suppose the worse thing is when I start the jeep from the outside (to let it warm up) it shoots exhaust fumes onto my pants. I try to avoid this on days I take it to work.

Adding my shock hack to my "Build" thread. I like the naked shock look and came up with this.[IMG]

Not the best pic but all 4 look like this now. No boot, painted with Rust-Oleum Self Etching Green Primer to match the Jeep.

Those spacers -- on mine I removed the two front ones and place the two rear ones below the bracket, not on top. So the brackets are bolted directly to the seat. It sit's me forward just a bit, which is good as I felt I was laying down with the stock setup. A bugger to get the bolts in, and yes I had to get longer ones for the body to bracket connection in order to fit those spacers. Easy peasy and my legs fit. I'm 6-2.
