Looks familiar. I went through about 30 square feet of 16 Ga just to fix the body and my bed was in good shape. Always a good excuse to buy new tools.

Looking good, great progress! Can you tell me what your welding setup is like? wire gauge, heat settings, etc? what gauge sheet metal are you using? Mostly I'm just curious, but you're doing an awesome job.

Flux core .30 wire . Campbell hauser welder. I like the Hobart wire from tractor supply, less spatter than lincoln . My heat settings are according to the welder . 18 gauge on the sides 12 gauge to 14 ga on the floor . I just got the bed today bent now i have to prime it . I gave the guy 20bucks to bend it , he was saying no charge . now he is fabing a bumper for me out of 3/16 . Real nice guy ! I am trying to seal the metal but it is hard working out in the weather . Thank you all for the kind words! It is fun keeps my mind off things . Wondering what i will do after this one is ready for the road! HMMMMMMM????

You can do it with your welder but running a 220v welder and using shield gas and .025 wire will give you much better results on sheet metal. Remove all of the paint and rust first as well where you are welding.

thanks uncamonkey. I am stuck with what I have . I am wire brushing the paint away the bare metal turns to surface rust in 2 days so I am priming as I go.
