1962 CJ5 Michaels Project

The above picture of the driver side rear corner ,it looks like cement ,feels like cement ! I haven't got to strip it off yet . I will snap a few pictures today of the replaced driver side rocker . Come on ups man I need mu floor riser from CE!!!!!!!!!jeep tossOn the truck!

 

UPS truck came ! floor riser , rear valence with supports and tail light mounts . Now I can fill in the floor . I still have the driver side rocker panel to fab and weld .

 

Ok it has been since I was 17 since I welded! I am Getting better , trust me

 

It has been a week or 2 but I actually got my son sanding on the hood today! I welded and cut on the rocker panels . Driver side is cut out I will bend it tomorrow . My son was covered in red dust .not bad for a kid that just scored 28 average on his first A.C.T. test for college . I am so proud of him!!!!!!

 

Well I have made some progress. I have a few Questions , 1 does anyone think the floor supports are wrong ?. 2 Why does the floor riser have a bevel on the bottom ?I need some experience , strength and hope !!!!!!!

 

My son and a friend tried to take of the hitch . 10 bolts 4 I had to cut 4 they broke, 1 came off with a BFH!!!! 1 left square nut and bolt Might have to get the torch!!! floor panel are coming along . I have the driverside welded just about. maybe I can have metal floors by the end of this weekend !!!!

 

Hitch is off !!! BFH worked . Cot the floor board panels out of 14ga . got the drivers side bent and close to fit . Some more trimming is necessary Passenger toe kick bent still needs a lot more cutting With no welding done I stood up in the drivers side floor board and it didn't even give .It was a beautiful day!!!!!pics to come
