You are right. Kinda like my "old blue" that I still need to come and get. :p

Come and get it. Although some of it is a little beyond "patina":

I do think you could patch those parts and blend to keep the rest of the patina. It's pretty isolated to a few spots; hat channels, front floor pans, and the top and bottom of the tail light panels. The rest is really solid even in the usual rust spots.

I have seen worse. A lot worse! Back in the day, no one had floor pans or hat channels. You could do it but you have that CJ-2a to finish.
To make that trip worthwhile I would have to haul something up there to make it worth the trip.

I would have to cruise the neighborhoods looking in the backyards. I bet I could find one. Just takes looking and knocking on doors.
Vehicles last well here, even when the paint is sunburned off. It's the newer stuff with plastic that goes. I had an '80 Power Wagon
1/2 ton short bed for years that the dashboard disintegrated on. Paint was gone and surface rust. I had dented every panel on
it. Saw a guy that made a metal dash on his. More work than I wanted to do and it was an automatic. Stuck it on a hill once
and the auto would not even turn the tires. Always a pain to pass emissions. I had my fun.

I guess that answers the question of why she didn't want to travel far to find her project. :p
