Looking to buy a battery tender for the CJ. Anyone using one for any length of time that could give some "opinions"? Also, which model would you recommend? I'm probably going to wall mount it.

I have several battery tender plus's and yuasa smart shots, unless it's on the trail my Willys is plugged in. It may be plugged in for 6 months or more at a clip, no issues.

The Battery Tender brand has a good reputation.

The Schumacher trickle chargers are fine. I've got several of those permanently installed on rigs. I use these as part of the winterization package - when I "plug in" the cord hanging out of the front grille I get power to the block heater, oil pan heater, and the Schumacher charger to pre-warm the battery and keep it fully charged.

For long term parking, my top pick is the pulse charger from pulse tech. I use these to maintain batteries long term. I've got a permanent connection on the jeep battery. When it sits for a long time I just plug in the pulse charger. My red top is still going strong and it's from the 90's.

I've been using a CTEK 3300 tender for the past couple years. It has "revived" two different 5+ year old batteries that have gone dead from sitting 6 months unattended, more than paying for itself.
I can't help but to recommend this piece. I rotate it around to different batteries about every 10 days, and everything stays alive and well.
