Found a nice hard top just a couple miles from my house, think it is a Meyers, has a "Jeep dealer approved" decal or something of that nature. It is on a '73, will it go right on my '66? Thanks

If the '73 has the original windshield (wiper motor on the outside), and not a later windshield (wiper motor in the cabin), yes.

Be sure to get everything - the little pieces are very hard to source.

:? . by what tim said is . these are the pieces . that have been known as unobtainable . upper hinge (2) lower hinge (2) windshield filler strips (2) gas tank indent filler strip (1) doors (2) door limiting straps (2) but I have seen without . I wouldn't know what the guy is talking about , something still on jeep for rear hatch :? . rear hatch has it own sliding lock mechanism built on door . not on tub/tailgate

Pardon me, the whole top is still on the '73, but it is missing a piece of linkage? for the rear latch.

If you aren't sure about it can you get us some pictures? Being on the Jeep still is the best situation since you should be able to see for your self if all of the trim pieces are there.

I know of a spare rear hatch you can take pieces from. PM me if needed.

As Ron said, be sure to get the parts he lists. The body side of the hinges and the filler strips are really hard to source, and you can't use the top without them.

Sorry about the long silence guys. I will get pictures and price as soon as I can but it will probably be a few days. I've known the seller for a good 30 years, he is one of the few guys around that you could depend on what he says, really nice guy. He just bought the 73 and doesn't want the hard top, if I got the story straight the 304 had gotten hot or run out of oil, something of that nature, and he bought it for about half of what one might expect to pay for a $500 top.

All parts are on the hard top except the doors of course.
You must take care of the door parts on the body and on the windshield.
Try to get the keys for the doors.

Try to get it in 1 part, it is very heavy, I fixed a hook in the center of mine so I can (easily) move it up and down alone.
In my opinion, it is better that to disassemble it in all parts as shown of the Meyer data book.
