So my jeep stinks of gasoline, its gotten better after I inserted a PCV hose, however the hose connection to the front of engine block leads to a dead end and there is a little bit of oil leaking from it. I believe it needs a hose from that dead end piece to another area of the carb but am unsure where. My cj5 is a 79 for reference. Thanks guys

The PCV connects from manifold vacuum to the crankcase, usually at the valve cover. There is a vapor recovery system that vents the fuel tank, and connects to the carburetor.

You have not described your problem well enough to say more.

You have a couple of options -

You can post pictures of what you are asking about. Instructions for posting pictures are in "Announcements ..." forum.

You can look at the factory service manual (FSM, also called TSM for Technical Service Manual) and familiarize yourself with the names, functions and locations of the parts. The FSM should answer your questions about what connects where. There is a FSM for each year of production. Here is one place you could buy it - http://www.bjsoffroad.com/prod-674.htm - all the Jeep specialty retailers have these books. Don't bother with the Haynes or Chilton manuals - they are full of errors and don't have the detail of the FSM.
