    A guy in the local jeep club has a new yj manual steering box for sale. Would this be a grunt to fit into an early cj5? Has anyone done this?
    My old Ross was going to need rebuilding What would be easier/better?.

    so I can use this for the saginaw upgrade? I was thinking about that upgrade, but not untill one of the other 1000 jobs that need doing to get it on the road. if so that would be great. so this won't bolt in to were the ross goes then? I think i'll pick it up for future upgrades. Thanks!

    No. go look at the saginaw pages. There are manual gears there too. Its a good upgrade as the ross boxes are all old and worn out. When new they do function fine, but more modern gears and drag links are easier to repair and find parts for. The work required to install a manual gear and a power gear is not very different and power is so much better...
