extended ss brakeline or jus regular rubber hoses?

    i have got a 2.5 " lift on the jeep with 11 inch brakes all around and was wondering if i should get the ss braded lines or the rubber ones? is it really worth the money?

    SS makes a difference.

    Doesn't bulge as much making the pedal feel firmer.

    Doesn't deteriorate.

    Plus you can brag about it to Joel that your brake lines are shiny. :D

    I'm gonna go against what Sparky said this time, we use SS braided lines at work alot, they are usually on new tools and most of them fail just as early and in some cases earlier than the standard hoses, we always replace them with standard hydraulic lines. It is true they don't bulge as bad but the underlying line always seems to be the problem when they fail and they do deteriorate at about the same rate, at least in my experience.
    The only thing the SS is gonna do is make the underlying line tougher to tear or cut.

    Tools and brake lines are similar but not the same.

    which would seem to me to be a very good thing on a trail rig.

    I was pretty impressed with how much stiffer the pedal felt on cars I've put these on. I plan on putting them on my Jeep.

    Yea but I put these lines on something that would blow the seals out of most of the crap on any braking system built. We run them at 3000psi!!:shock:
    Your idea of a tool Sparky and my idea are totally different. You call a wrench a tool, the die that stamped the body for your Jeep is still a tool, just ask any Tool & Diemaker.

    I wasn't thinking of a wrench.

    I've been around enough farm equipment to know what hydraulics are.

    go SS. much stiffer peadle because of the lack of bulging.

    Yep. JMO.

    Recall that the "rubber" hoses have a braided steel core. Think of how long a set of these hoses lasts in an OEM application. Think of how many of these vehicles function reliably under all conditions.
