    I just picked up a '56 cj5.

I noticed that in the rear floor that the small lengthwise ridges were about 9 inches apart, leaving room for only three. I went over to another jeep and the ridges were about 4 inches apart and there were a lot more (didn't count them).

Every jeep I have ever had or seen had the 4 inch ridge spacing.

    - I wonder if this isn't a way to tell a really old cj5 tub from a newer (~1958) tub. Does anyone else have a 55 or 56 cj with this wierd floorboard in the rear?

I wonder how many ridges were in a M38A1 tub?

It may not be a Jeep bed panel specifically. Raybucks sells corrugated bed metal in 96x28" or 48x16" sizes; used for universal bed floor replacement.

I have both of the rear floor pans from Tonka (55) & a doner tub (67?) stacked next to each other, they're exatly the same ridge-wise. The only difference is the newer one has two hat channels under it rather than the one Tonk has. Maggie's (59 CJ6) is likewise simular.

I'd say you have had a replacement put in somewheres along the lone-
