I was removing the old springs off my cj5 to put other stock type springs on the rear. they are from a 65 cj5. anyway they seemed to short so I mearsured them. my old springs were around 48 inches and the 65 cj springs are 42 inches. of course this won't woork. it doesent look like the hanger were moved on the frame. I can't figure why the one set would be longer then the others. I assumed 55 adn 65 were the same springs. now I may just cut the front hangers off and move them back a few inches to get it to work. I am just wondering if anyone has ahd this happen to them?

Are the springs you want to put on fronts?

Just wondering why they are shorter.... Front springs are shorter... I personally wouldn't relocate the rear hangers, especially for shorter springs.
