‘72. Manual, original drum brakes front and rear.

So the rear re-do was no problem, went as expected with lines/fittings going out to the rear cylinders via the axle from the one hydraulic hose that dropped down to the “T”.

For those that have more experience....

Re-did all the lines to the front and was installing the new hydraulic hoses and front wheel cylinders. On both the replacement parts and the original (I assume original due to condition), the threaded hose connection that goes into the wheel cylinder does not look like it bottoms out like normal flared brake fittings and receptacles I came across so far in the project. As I see it, the threads and washer provide the seal? Seemed strange but I checked all my replacement part numbers again to be sure, and like I said, the old parts look to have been the same way. Hopefully I’m describing this right so you can understand. Essentially, the threaded connector on the end of the hose is not long enough to make a pressed seal in the bottom of the wheel cylinder hole that accepts it as I look at it. Is this arrangement correct?

Yes, the cylinder end has a washer that acts as a seal. There is no flare. The flared end goes to the chassis, to connect to the brake line.
