'74 Cj5 Stock Shock?

    Hello, I have 4 shocks on the rear. They are mounted on either side at the bottom of the leaf spring and at opposing angles at the top. Is this a stock set up? Just curious. Thanks, Dave

    PO mod. Never came that way from the factory.

    Double shocks on the front were popular in many applications back then. I suspect these dual shocks were inspired by the Baja racers that had multiple shocks on all wheels. IMO dual shocks on the rear don't do much for a CJ with the stiff factory springs mounted way inboard and the length-limiting body shell above.

    Yea figured it wasn't stock but thought maybe it was a factory or dealer option. whoever did it did a nice job on them anyway. Thanks for the responses.
