Still very new to all this jeep stuff so I hope this isn't a dumb question. I have a 67 cj5 with the dauntless and I am building the motor right now. I was considering going with the Holley sniper system but my motor already has the Offenhauser 4bl intake. So the question is, can I adapt this intake for the Holley 2bl system? Would this work just as well adapted or would it probably be a bad idea?

Offenhauser makes both a " dual plane " and " dual port" design. If the former, with an adapter yes the latter no it will perform poorly. Pictures please of your intake.

Looks like the picture I just posted is waiting for the moderator to approve. In the meantime, I can try to describe it. It has two elongated ports, right side and left. Then there is a mid sized square cutout that opens up the center plane so that moderate flow can happen between the right and left sides of the manifold.

Thats a dual plane. You could run the sniper on it.

Note if you are putting a sniper EFI on an odd-fire V6, you'll want to go to a crank trigger. There are several threads on the forum about this.

Yes, Thank you. I been working on that too. Just picked up my block an hour ago from the machine shop.
On another note, I posed this same question on a facebook group and someone suggested I go with the 4bl holley instead because my manifold already matches that. I checked with Holley Tech support and they said this block would not move enough air to make that bigger sniper work right. They didn't seen real confident in that answer so I'm wondering. A couple of people said it would be just fine with that 4bl manifold I have but I'm nervous. I checked Holley's specs for the Sniper 2 and it specified between 200 to 650 horse power. I'm definity below that. So does anyone have any firsthand knowledge on whether or not that bigger 4bl Sniper will run good on this small oddfire engine?
    Thanks in advance,

I don't have personal experience, but it's my understanding the 4 barrel Holley throttle bodies are not progressive and open all the throttle plates at once. A little throttle pedal movement equals a big change in the amount of air getting in the engine. That can make it very hard to modulate the throttle at light load on a small engine. Because of this, the 2 barrel throttle body will probably have better driveability.

The large tbi system should still function on the small motor like a large engine at idle. But like others say it's overkill on a stock motor.
If yours has a aftermarket intake I wonder if it has a stock cam?

I wonder what is different about BJs system that allows the Holley EFI to work with an oddfire engine.

This kit requires HEI and won't work a stock distributor. I suspect the TACH signal overcomes the odd fire issues.
What I DON'T understand is how does this system work without an O2 sensor.

I've deferred upgrading to FI with all the trouble I seen at this site...but maybe I'm getting closer to taking the plunge.

    The full kit at Summit.

It is listed but not shown in the picture. Others have tried using the tach signal from the HEI with poor results and some have added
a tach filter to smooth the signal. A full kit is also offered.
