I think there’s a couple tiny screws that’s supposed to hold the face down.

Question is can I pull the glass off the front without pulling the Speedo from the dashboard?

Anyone have any idea what size screws I need?

That speedo was probably made for the Australian market.

There should be studs spot welded on the back side of the dash. It gets installed from the back and no you can't just easily remove the glass.

    It goes with this....
    upload_2025-2-11_6-56-15.jpeg
You'll have to pull the speedo.
"un"bend the bezel around the outside perimeter
Lift the speedo body out of the bezel.
The glass face will be laying in the bezel.

If you are trying to flip the insides, you're better off removing the speedo and flipping the unit.

You have to remove the gauge from the dash becausethe bezel also has the gauge monuting tabs on it. Then you can bend out the tabs that hold the bezel and the glass comes tight out.

I certainly didn’t enjoy being upside down under the dash but I managed.
Lucky for me the two tiny screws were right there in the glass and super easy to reattach the face (with Loctite).

Used to be able to work upside down under the dash. Can't do that now.
    Too old and stiff.

Install four 9" bolts in place of the dash mounting bolts
Unbolt the steering column from the dash and pull it down slightly
Pull the rest of the bolts and slide the dash forward on the extended bolts. This will give access to the back of the dash without having to contort yourself on the floor.
This works pretty well with a Saginaw conversion, you may have to drop a couple of bolts on the Ross box to get the added clearance.

I actually did do that during installation. Though it might be less work just getting under there.

A cage pretty well eliminates that option.

If you have a full cage, can't you just roll the whole jeep upside down while you work?

I did suggest something along that line for Fireball and his work behind the 2A dash. Just pull the windshield and set it on the front bumper. Should work on a CJ 5 too.
