Just wondering now that I went and fixed them up and they work, when did the turn signal lenses change on the jeeps?
I've got these on my 68 and they look like they belong to the grill. I mixed and matched parts building this thing so it may have come off of something else, but there is a 68 printed on the lense cover. They are about 4 1/4" in diameter with 3 mounting screws.
My 69 with the hurricane is different though. It has the smaller yellow turn lenses with the chrome rings. The radiator is also different. The opening in the grill is the same at the front, but it flares out more at the back where the radiator mounts. There is a wider radiator than I have seen the 4 cyl having.
Anyone know the correct years for lights/grills...???

    Allright, let me ask this.

I've seen some pics of 70 cj5's with the bigger lenses.

Those of you with 67, 68, and 69 cj's, what kind of lenses do you have?

My '67 has the smaller lenses. Not sure what year they swapped to the bigger ones.

I'm pretty sure the smaller amber ones carried thru '68, at least. 'Course, I'm sure it wasn't a "stop the line and switch to the new ones" kind of deal, there were probably carry overs....

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

parts book just says 69-71 for the larger diam lamps
makes note of 1157A bulb or 1034 bulb (dual or single filament?)

Lulu ('71) has the large ones like you have. Although, I think my trim rings are a little different than yours. Mine are more "rolled", and the lense sits "inside" the trim ring a little more...

The '69 that I worked on in the past has the large ones also.

Its hard to tell in that picture, but the metal cup for the lense is a little larger than it so the lense does fit inside the cup.

Oh, they are dual filliment also. dim for parking lights, bright for turns.

Thanks Jim. I think the build date was oct '68 so its probably one of those left over parts things. Guess I'll have to compare vin's on the 68 and 69 to see when the 2 were actually built.

My 60 has the clear front turn signal lens with amber dual filaments. Is that correct?

A '68 that I looked at once had the small lenses. A guy here in town with a '70 has the larger lenses.

My Oct. '69 has lenses similar to yours, my '68 has the smaller amber ones.

My '69 has the smaller, almost conical amber lenses with the metal ring, BUT I also have a '68 style windsheild, so mine is one of those "mutts" that Jeep often produced during transitions from one type of stock to another...

Patrick's Jeep has a radiator that's completely different than what's in Lulu. It's much smaller, and sound like what you describe. The rods that connect it to the firewall are much thicker than the ones in Lulu as well.
